Phytoplankton, as a basic component of the marine food chain, has the potential to increase in population due to nutrient-rich waters. However, these organisms are also vulnerable to extreme conditions due to strong shocks and water movement. Second, falling tsunami water can damage natural habitats such as coral reefs and seagrass beds. Coral reefs, which serve as homes for various fish species, are experiencing physical damage. Corals that are broken or detached will take a long time to recover, thereby reducing local biodiversity. Proper handling and environmental restoration are important to maintain the sustainability of marine ecosystems. Ultimately, collaboration between scientists, governments and local communities is essential in restoring and protecting post-tsunami marine ecosystems.
